Abbye Falkner is a 26 year old artist based in northwest Louisiana. She's a budding artist that paints both floral buds and human buds. Her hand loves realism but her mind longs for something a little less clear. After spending a few years with an oil painter's "elitist" mindset, she decided to try other mediums and has since taken a liking to watercolor and gouache. Her original work is something like a visual diary; constantly expelling things from one's mind in an attempt to better understand a current or ever-present obstacle, sometimes known as life.
Artists that have made an impression include Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Alphonse Mucha, Salvador Dali, Dr. Suess, Eyvind Earle, Bao Pham, Ruth Speer, Claire Basler, Chris Hong, and Audrey Kawasaki. One mustn’t overlook the tremendous amount of inspiration from other areas of life like authors and musicians and nature. Nothing inspires more than the things and people around you.
